Two (more) groups for the same user

Hello everyone,,
I would like to create a very specific working group on the forum (1.5.6). This group will welcome volunteers to organize a motorcycle safety day.

The participants will come from all sides, so I created a Meeting 2016 group. But when I put the users (with the right rights) in this group, it works nickel, but if I put one of my admin or moderators in this group they are "losing" their current ranks ....

So I would like to put users in two (or three) different groups? Is this possible?

Another example, two different groups dealing with different subjects and, one could imagine that someone no longer wishes to participate in one of the subjects, it would be enough to remove it from the group in question .... I know that we can give rights specific to members, but it will be a struggle in two years to know who has rights to change to withdraw their access.

Thank you for the help you will give me.

edit: we could imagine a site on animals and that participants are in a group "aquarium" and at the same time in a group "cats", and the day when he loses his cat, he is denied access to the group. ... full of possibilities open to my mind ....
